LUBBOCK – The 23rd anniversary of the Building Strong Families Conference for parents is set for Oct. 25 at the Broadway Church of Christ, 1924 Broadway Ave., Lubbock.
The registration fee is $12 and includes a continental breakfast and lunch. The deadline to register is Oct. 17, and attendance will be capped at 400. To register online, go to http://bit.ly/BuildingStrongFamilies2018. Group registrations can be made by calling Denise Stovall at 806-834-7959.
The Building Strong Families Conference was founded by the Lubbock County Partners for Parenting Coalition, said Kay Davis, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service family and community health agent for Lubbock County.
This conference targets parents and professionals in the 20-plus county area surrounding Lubbock. This year’s program will include sessions from four different tracks: Student Safety; Social Emotional Well-being of Your Child; Academics and Your Child; and Parenting.

Breakfast and registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. Sessions are scheduled 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Educational exhibits from local sponsors will also showcase resources for parents and families. Spanish and English sessions are scheduled for each time slot. Continuing education units will be offered for social workers and others who might need them.
