EDNA — The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Jackson County, in collaboration with Jackson County beef and field crops committees, will present a five-hour continuing education unit program Nov. 29 at the Jackson County Services Building Auditorium, 411 N. Wells in Edna.
Day-of registration starts at 8 a.m. The program will begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at 3 p.m.
The $25 registration fee includes refreshments and lunch.
“This is a great opportunity to pick up some continuing education units before the end of the year,” said Michael Hiller, AgriLife Extension agent for Jackson County. “A total of five Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education units — three general, one laws and regulations, and one integrated pest management — will be offered for TDA pesticide applicator license holders.”
He said the program will also provide five CEUs for the Texas Certified Crop Adviser program. The units and categories for the crop adviser program will be 0.5 unit in nutrient management, 1.5 units in soil and water management, 2.5 units in integrated pest management and 0.5 unit in professional development. said.

— Dr. Sonja Swiger, AgriLife Extension integrated pest management specialist, Stephenville. Zika, Mosquitos and Ticks.
— Dr. Michael Schramm, Texas Water Resources Institute research scientist, College Station. Watershed and Water Quality: Nutrient Management, Chemical Applications and Runoff.
— Josh Helcel, Texas A&M Natural Resources Institute extension associate, Gatesville. Feral Hogs.
— Dr. Don Renchie, AgriLife Extension agricultural and environmental safety specialist, College Station. Texas Pesticide Laws and Regulations.
— Rob Brooks, Dow Chemical Company distribution operator, China. Range and Pasture Herbicide Update.
