BIG SPRING – The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service is holding a Multi-County West Texas Range and Livestock Conference on April 25.
Hosted by Upton, Reagan, Howard and Martin counties, the conference will be held at the AgriLife Extension office at the G.C. Broughton Jr. Ag Complex, 2411 Echols St., Big Spring.
Registration will start at 8 a.m. at the door, and the program will run from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. The cost is $10 with an RSVP, which is requested to the AgriLife Extension office in Howard County at 432-264-2236 by April 18. The cost at the door without an RSVP is $20.
There are three Texas Department of Agriculture general continuing education units available. Lunch will be complimentary of Multimin.
“This conference is a wonderful opportunity for producers in our counties to come out and learn about important health topics that affect their cattle,” said Tommy Yeater, AgriLife Extension agent for Howard County. “We are also going to be discussing ways in which folks can get more money for the livestock they raise.”
Topics and speakers include:
- Niche Marketing for Livestock Using Source Verification – Kristina Bierschwale, IMI Global, San Antonio.
- Anaplasmosis (yellow bag/yellow fever) – Dr. Tom Hairgrove, AgriLife Extension specialist, College Station.
- Getting the Timing Right for Trace Minerals – Heath Landis, Multimin, New Braunfels.
