LUBBOCK – The Texas Community Futures Forum will be April 22 in Lubbock County.

The forum is designed to assist local Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service agents and the Lubbock County Extension Leadership Advisory Board in identifying the most critical issues affecting the county.

Community members are invited to participate in the event, which will be at 916 Main St. in the first-floor meeting room at 6 p.m.

“As a Lubbock County resident, your opinion about issues affecting the county is valued in our community,” said Ronda Alexander, AgriLife Extension agent, Lubbock County. “We hope you can join us to share your concerns and issues.”

Alexander said information identified at the forum will direct the educational programming efforts of AgriLife Extension for the next four to five years.

Forum participants will be divided into four program areas: Community Development, Agriculture, 4-H and Youth Development and Family and Community Health,” she said.

Alexander said she wanted the community to understand that AgriLife Extension is a grassroots-based organization with a rich history of providing educational programs that address the most critical issues in the county.  Issues for discussion will relate to agriculture and natural resources, families and health, youth and community development and more.

“Our expectation is that the forum will last less than two hours, as we understand the value of our participants’ time,” Alexander said.
