BRADY — The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service of McCulloch County will pull the trigger on the McCulloch County 4-H Whiz Bang Shoot on June 1.

Orientation will begin at 8 a.m., and the shoot will start at 8:30 a.m. The event is being held at the Brady Gun Range, 724 Fife St., located off of Farm-to-Market Road 3022, which leads to Brady Lake.

“We’re excited to once again host this event for our 4-H members in McCulloch County, as well as 4-H members across Texas,” said Justin Klinksiek, AgriLife Extension agent, McCulloch County. “This is a great opportunity for our members and their families to come together for a day of fun.”

The event is limited to 100 participants, and the registration deadline is May 24. There are six classifications, including two for novices, who are defined as first-year competition shooters.

The cost is $90 for regular shooters; $75 for novice shooters. There is a $20 late fee for registration after the deadline, space permitting.

Regular classes will shoot 50 skeet, 50 trap and 50 five-stand. Novice shooters will shoot 25 skeet, 25 trap and 30 five-stand.

The Whiz Bang Shoot is open statewide to third-graders through high school seniors. Breakfast and lunch are complimentary for registered shooters and will be available for purchase for non-participants.

Awards will be presented for high overall, as well as first-place through fifth-place in each class.
