COLLEGE STATION — The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will host a Ranchers Leasing Workshop from noon to 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 11 at the Thomas G. Hildebrand Equine Complex, 3240 F&B Road, College Station.
Presenters will be Tiffany Dowell Lashmet, AgriLife Extension agricultural law specialist, Amarillo, and Greg Kaase, Ph.D., AgriLife Extension agricultural economist and risk management specialist, College Station.
“We have done 20 of these workshops around the state with over 1,200 participants,” Lashmet said. “In our evaluations, every one of them said they would recommend the program to a friend. We focus on providing practical, useful information that people can take home and use on their operations.”
The workshop will focus on grazing, hunting and livestock leases. It also will provide an opportunity for attendees to ask questions and interact with attorneys and economists.
All participants will receive their own copy of the Ranchers’ Agricultural Leasing Handbook, containing checklists and sample lease language. A chicken-fried steak dinner will be served, sponsored by AgWorkers Insurance.
The cost will be $50 per person or $80 per couple, and lunch will be provided. Registration is required and can be found at https://agriliferegister.tamu.edu/productListingDetails/2794 or by calling Valerie Lehmann at 979-845-2604.
For more information, contact Kaase at 979-458-3348 or Lashmet at 806-677-5681.
