BAY CITY — The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service office in Matagorda County will host a bee and beekeeping event on Sept. 17 at the Wharton County Junior College campus, 4000 Ave. F, Bay City.
The program will begin at 6 p.m., and the cost will be $20. Mary Reed, Texas A&M College of Agriculture and Life Sciences’ Department of Entomology chief apiary inspector will be the speaker. Topics will include laws on bees and beekeeping, and research and issues facing honey production.
Two Texas Department of Agriculture general continuing education units will be available for those holding a pesticide applicator’s license.
